Another excellent Edublogs.org blog

Bad, Bad Blogger

I’m a bad, bad blogger for my fellow school “teammates”.  I’ve spent my time “surfing” the blogging world trying to find sites that will help me and haven’t been very good about responding to others posts.  Part of my problem is that I’m resistant to the idea and would rather spend my time reading a good book than sitting at my computer.  I am learning a lot from my “research”, however, and am glad that I’m being exposed to new knowledge.  One  article that I recently read, by Christopher Harris  has some great ideas about the direction libraries should be taking.  Reading it made me feel challenged and overwhelmed with all the changes on the horizon.  I guess that’s how blogging makes me feel, too.

You’re not a bad blogger! It is intimidating to try and take on the breadth of available ideas and then to add one’s voice to the mix. Librarians are definitely facing an immense amount of change as the traditional forms of research and accessing information give way to much more complex, interwoven technologies. It’s a lot to absorb!
